DIANA stops workin
I have a problem with a DIANA Teachers edition. When I am running iDIANA and try to run GEOMETRY POINT COORDINATE I get a message that says "Finite Element Analysis has stopped working" and the program closes. Does anyone have a solution to my problem? I am running Windows 7 32-bits on my computer.

My first guess would be that the OpenGL support of your graphics board and/or graphics driver is too limited. iDIANA is designed to make optimal use of Workstation class graphics boards like NVIDIA QUADRO FX based boards which are designed for tasks like iDIANA.
My first attempt would be to download and install the latest drivers for the graphics board.
After that you could try to reduce the hardware accelleration settings in the graphics driver.
Hi!
I have also encountered this problem in my Diana teacher edition, using a Lenovo Z61t laptop running Windows 7 32-bit. I have, as you recommended, updated the graphics driver, but without result. I also tried running the program in compatibility mode, but as before, I get the message "Finite element analysis has stopped working". My graphics board is:
Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family
Hope anyone help me with this!
Compatibility mode is not what I mean. Compatibility mode is for applications not designed for Windows 7. That is not the case here.
If updating the drivers does not help most of the time reducing the hardware acceleration of the graphics board helps solve the problem.
In windows 7 this can be found under:
Start => Control Panel => Adjust screen resolution (under Appearance and Personalization)
Advanced settings
Troubleshoot
Change settings
Here you will find a slider that controls the amount of hardware acceleration of the graphics board. Start by disabling all hardware acceleration, restart your computer and see if the problem is solved. If it is solved increase the slider step by step to find the optimal hardware acceleration setting. If not, the only option left is to replace the graphics board with one that has proper OpenGL support like NVIDIA Quadro FX boards.
Please note that in some cases the "Change settings" button is grayed out. In that case you need to find the same control inside the graphics driver software.
